The south end following up along sCrow Creek is a very step climb with numerous falls and cascades. The largest falls is near the Girdwood Mine just below Crow Pass.

Once you are over Crow Pass and hiking down the foot of Raven Glacier to Raven Creek Valley you soon reach Raven Gorge. From a mile of broad flat braided streambed the creek suddenly makes a right angle turn and drops over 45 feet into the gorge.

The Raven Creek valley ends in Eagle River valley about one half mile below the headwaters of Eagel River - the Eagle Glacier. The trail continues down stream about 12 miles to meet the road at the park vsitor center. Go to the Anchorage area waterfalls page to view a few waterfalls along the trail.

Turbid Creek about half way down the Raven Creek valley. Not very wide but a deep, swift cascade one has to wade when hiking the trail.

Several view of the falls at Girdwood Mine. The creek drops out of a narrow clef in the hillside. The trail follows a series of step switchbacks out of sight to the left to get above the falls and canyon. The ledge visible in two of the photos was cut into the rock to carry a flume for hydrolic workings of the mine.
